It was July, the height of summer and we found our selves packing our bags for a trip away, a handful of days to drench ourselves in Italian sun. This was no holiday however! We we’re heading back to the stunning Il Borro for three days of destination wedding delights for Meghan and Steven who, along with Brenda Babcock (Italia Celebrations) had planned every little detail of the days that followed perfectly.
From a welcome pizza party in the medieval village to the delightful rehearsal dinner and the elegant and stylish wedding day. Not to mention the bike tour, wine tasting (Mmmm), nights filled with fire dancers, musical jazz flutterings in the breeze and all the mouthwatering food.
Now many of you would think that during this kind of adventure of a wedding celebration that the idea of home would never have come across our minds but there was something that kept reminding us of it, something ever so slight. A familiar ascent or the banding of colours perhaps.
Guests had gathered from all over however the vast majority came from the US and Glasgow! It felt crazy having so much in common with so many guests and lets be honest Americans and Scots know how to party! We really felt at home and so welcomed by both families and friends, Meghan’s little brother Justin even helped out on camera and lights from time to time lol
This might have been a destination wedding planned from miles away however it really felt like Meghan and Steven made Il Borro their country and home for those special few days.
Meghan and Steven we wish you all the best for your married life together and feel free to drop us a line when your next in Glasgow 🙂
