On the 21st April 2012 a slight rain fell onto the brown branches and foliage of the surrounding woodlands, replenishing the running River Clyde and turning the mechanical joints of the New Lanark Mill. This didn’t dampen the spirits of Fiona & Rory or their guests as they celebrated their marriage at the World Heritage Site.
Leslie Mitchell lead the humanist ceremony in the Musicians Room which was beautifully decked out with wooden chairs, pastel coloured bunting and two massive white balloons either side of the aisle. The decor was simple but alternatively elegant!
It was after the ceremony the new Mr & Mrs McCoy were able to greet all of their guests outside, taking photographs with family then hurrying them down for drinks inside. The cold didn’t put the couple off a few treks to some interesting locations for more happy snapping around the Mill with CineMate tagging along to keep on schedule.
Celebrations continued with a meal in the Robert Owen Room and speeches filled with props and quizzes thought up by the best man. It wasn’t long before the crowd of family and friends were back over to The Gallery Room where Carrie On Dancing provided the musical entertainment in the form of a ceilidh.
We loved being part of this special day and hope that Fiona & Rory have a wonderful married life together!
