When the CineMate van cautiously ascended the twisting and icy lane up to Drumtochty Castle on the evening of Friday the 19th of December, we realised that Kayleigh and Allan had got their wish: a white wedding. Inside the castle, a comforting warmth painted the windows with condensation, whilst the glow of the giant Christmas tree lights was masked by the beaming smiles of the soon to be married couple.
The following morning saw the guests start to arrive, and steadily make their way towards the church of St. Palladius for the ceremony. The couple exchanged vows and the Cairn String Quartet decorated the air before the guests were shuttled back across to the castle for the festivities to commence. A combination of good natured guests with an overstocked alcohol store made for a perfect reception, followed by heartfelt speeches laced with humour. The walls of the grand hall reverberated with belly laughs before the lights dimmed for Allan and Kayleigh’s first dance as husband and wife, with the groom then taking to the stage to close the evening with a charismatic display of love: a spontaneous musical spectacle dedicated to Kayleigh.
We at CineMate would like to thank the couple for letting us send off the year with a bang, and we wish you joy and happiness for the future.
