Daniel and Harley invited us down to Wigan on the 2nd of June 2012 to film their wedding at Daniel’s family church, where as a child served as an Alter Boy.
It was an early morning start to the day on the saturday as the team separated for the filming of the couples preps. There were lots of present giving, tears and broken glass (exploding corona and dropped champagne glasses at the grooms house).
The ceremony was held at St.Mary’s church in the couples home town of Wigan. The sun shone and the guests waited in anticipation for first sight of the bride along with the rather nervous Groom. As Harley took her first steps into the church and down the aisle with her Father, her smiled lit up the church and the heart of Daniel! All nerves vanished and the couple took their vows and exchanged rings.
Heading to Samlesbury Hall in Preston for the reception, a venue full of history and haunting secrets as well as the family and friends of the newly married Mr & Mrs Dowd!
We were welcomed like family into the celebrations but have to admit, we both got a little nervous when the Toastmaster was giving the history of the Great Hall, mentioning the Scots unfortunate ventures down South, invading the English lands :-/ we got a few strange looks lol.
Daniel & Harley, you both were so kind and welcoming it was sad to leave you both however we wish you all the best for your future together.
