At CineMate we’ve had the good fortune of being invited to film some beautiful destination weddings, and they’ve always seemed to have a certain magic about them. That’s not to say that you have to venture abroad to have a magical day (we will speak about the mysterious science of wedding magic in a later blog), but if you’re willing to put in the investment in terms of time and money, then the payoff can be huge. Though it will always be more challenging to find the right wedding suppliers for a destination do, there are so many resources at your disposal to help you!
We’re off to Italy again this year for Stephanie and Matt’s wedding, which has got us thinking back to the Italian venues we’ve filmed- so we thought we’d let you know about a couple of our favourites:
Il Borro, Tuscany
“A seven hundred acre estate in the heart of Tuscany, Il Borro lies in the basin of the Upper Valdarno, a large natural floodplain carved by the passage of the Arno river and bordered by the Pratomagno ridge, the Apennine mountains and the hills of Chianti“
What can we say- this venue is like something from a postcard. In fact- we would be shocked if it isn’t already! It’s the kind of textbook Italian countryside that the word “picturesque” doesn’t even do justice to.
What we like about it: It’s a hidden gem. The ancient village and modern spa are the perfect marriage between old and new.
La Badia Di Orvietto
“Surrounded by the green hills of Umbria… within its fortified tufa walls and the surrounding park that affords a wonderful view of Orvieto”
This is another countryside treat with some holy origins and a kickass history!
What we like about it: You can amongst the ancient ruins and look across the valley to the old town (Orvieto). The food is incredible too- eating dinner surrounded by the walls of the old monastery, or just eating a simple porchetta sandwich- heavenly!
If you’re considering CineMate as your destination wedding filmmakers of choice, we’d love to hear from you!
