was an alternative, same-sex, Scottish woodland wedding styled shoot. When Cinemate were asked to put our spin on the shoot our heads instantly drew inspiration from the poem titled “The Road Not Taken” written by Robert Frost.

The ambiguity of this poem has left even the keenest of written word enthusiasts unsure of an interpretation, whether its point of view is that of free will versus determinism. However, having the belief that all art forms are subject to interpretation Cinemate took the more direct interpretation of free will.

We wanted to inspire those seeking a more alternative wedding by highlighting all the amazing suppliers featuring their work in this shoot and by creating a film bold and unapologetically different and dark.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
